Have you considered the Hispanic market as your next potential audience?

Hulu Latino did, and just released an original 24-episode series”East Los High”. Although the show might have some artistic flaws, it is one of the smartest moves from a major media provider in the past year.

Why?

According to Nielsen, the Hispanic market is one of the fastest growing markets in the United States. This represents a huge revenue potential for any media company. Nielson’s full report can be found here.

The Hispanic market is gold mine for any media company and many studios have already started pursuing it. In 2011 Lionsgate partnered with Mexico’s Televisa to form Pantelion Films. Some recent attempts at this capturing this market include: Rob Schneider’sROB TV Show, Eva Longoria’s Ready For Love,

Different Approach

However, Hulu is taking a different approach. Rather than poking fun at stereotypes, they are portraying a more realistic image of Hispanics and their culture. They are taking it to another level and actually trying to understand this new breed of latinos.
